Begin the tour we will pick up you at your hotel and take a chance to interact with some gentle giants at the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage which sprawls across a 25 acre property. The orphanage established in the year 1975 to rehabilitate and provide care to injured and orphaned elephants, it has since expanded to house a herd of 70 over jumbos. The highlight of the visit, will be the daily bath sessions which the elephants enjoy down by the river.
En rout to kandy stop at a tea factory and hear about its tea plantation and Enjoy the chance to try and buy teas and also visit a spice garden in Mawanella, and learn about the therapeutic values of spices and the various cultivation process employed, after which one can enjoy a revitalizing cup of herbal tea with a foot massage.
Next, continue to Kandy to explore the Temple of the Tooth Relic, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that houses the Buddha’s left canine tooth. Take time to marvel at one of the most sacred and famous places in Sri Lanka before discovering Sri Lanka’s last kingdom.
Stop for lunch at your own expense afterward at a restaurant with a viewpoint over Kandy. After you will find shops selling intricate souvenirs and international brands,with the processes of gem museum, and lapidary as well as an arts & crafts centres.
Befor way back to your hotel you will be able to enjoy a cultural show at a local auditorium which showcases the traditional drumming and dancing which form a major part of the Kandian identity.
